Biography
After being called to the bar in 1983, W. Alex Kyle joined a small Toronto firm as an associate lawyer in 1985. His practice included real estate and litigation work for financial institutions and large corporations. After relocating to Oakville, Ontario in 1988 he became a partner in the law firm of Marler & Kyle for 16 years before establishing the partnership of Kyle & van der Steen LLP.

Ronald H.A. van der Steen, P. Eng., B.A., LL.B., C.E.T.

Ronald H.A. van der Steen practices in a wide variety of legal areas, including litigation, real estate, mortgage remedies, business law, family law and wills and estates.
Biography
Prior to obtaining a law degree, Ron was a professional engineer and was involved in a number of capital work projects involving a number of technical and legal aspects. When his interest in the legal field grew, he attended the University of Windsor where he earned his Bachelor of Laws degree. He established his own practice in Oakville for two and a half years before becoming a partner in Kyle & van der Steen LLP in 2001.

Katherine N. Batycky, B.A., LL.B
Areas of Practice
Katherine N. Batycky has a background in both litigation and family law. Katherine dedicates most of her time to her family law clients in order to provide them with the support they need to reach a fair resolution.
Biography
Katherine was called on the Ontario Bar in 1980 after attending the University of Winnipeg and McGill University. She moved to Yellowknife, Northwest Territories for a year to work as an associate lawyer in a law firm practicing in litigation, criminal and family law. Katherine returned to Ontario in 1981 where she practiced law in the Hamilton area before becoming staff lawyer for the C.A.W. Legal Services Plan in Oakville, Ontario from 1988-1994. Katherine decided to scale back her practice while raising her three children and has been working as a part time associate lawyer at Kyle & van der Steen LLP since January, 2005. She looks forward to expanding her practice in the near future.
